Descriptions such as “uplifting” come from consumer reports and marketing tradition more than from controlled research. Lists of uplifting weed strains to grow usually feature sativa-leaning names like Jack Herer, Super Lemon Haze, and Durban Poison, although genetic studies show that such labels predict chemical content poorly. Two plants sold under the same name can differ considerably in cannabinoids and terpenes. Laboratory results for a specific seed line are a more dependable guide than its reputation.
